Because they contain mercury, most are classified as hazardous waste.

Overall, for which type of light bulb to choose, I would recommend that LED light bulb is the best choice to get currently despite the Cons. As the cons is not really that much of a problem as there is solutions to it. Whereas, there is no solution for most of the cons stated under Fluorescent and Incandescent Light Bulb.
